Rory Boland
Rory Boland has lived, worked, and set up a business in Hong Kong—dealing with the frustrations of not being able to get a work permit, the clashing cultures of paternalism and teamwork in the workplace, and identifying the mystery spiders jumping around the bathroom—and he still hasn't solved the riddle of the city's dual character. He has, however, learned a lot along the way.
Rory has contributed pieces on Hong Kong to the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s leading daily English-language newspaper, as well as travel pieces to a number of overseas publications, including the Boston Globe, and has served as editor of CityLife, a bilingual publication for expats and visitors. Rory lives in Warsaw, Poland.
