Tricia Cornell wore out two pairs of shoes and broke a bone in her foot writing the first issue of Tallin in Your Pocket, one of Europe's most successful guidebooks. During that time, she wrote more than 15 guides to six cities.

When she returned to the United States after five years in Central Europe, she could have chosen to live anywhere but chose Minneapolis. The lakes—ten of them in Minneapolis alone—the theater and arts scenes, the Twin Cities’ manageable size, and, yes even the weather, all proved irresistible. After seven years in the Cities, she's still finding new reasons to love the cities, as innovative new farmers markets open, greenways expand, and hometown chefs attract national attention.

Tricia edits Minnesota Parent Magazine and Minnesota Good Age. Her beat is the whole of the Twin Cities area for two demographics that cover nearly the entire spectrum of life. Minnesota Parent's 2007 Family Directory won a gold award in the highest circulation from the Minnesota Magazine and Publications Association for Best Directory division. This 48-page guide includes everything a parent needs to know about the metro area.

Tricia is still wearing out a lot of shoe leather as a freelance writer. For City Pages, her local alt-weekly, she's tracked down everything from the best Japanese restaurant to the best yarn store for about 50 “Best Of” blurbs. For Minnesota Monthly she has tested breakfast joints and hot cocoa purveyors and interviewed farmers, scientists, and chefs. Every assignment so far has made her appreciate her new home town just a little more.
