About Janhavi Acharekar
Based in Mumbai, Janhavi Acharekar’s literary experience includes writing fiction, travel, and book reviews, as well as copywriting and serving as curator of several literary festivals. Her writing has appeared in various Indian and international publications, including CondeNast Traveller (UK). Janhavi is the author of Window Seat, a collection of short stories on Mumbai, and her stories have also been featured in various short fiction anthologies. In 2009 she was awarded a three-month visiting writer’s fellowship at the University of Stirling in Scotland.
During the course of her research and writing for this book, Janhavi witnessed Mumbai’s worst terror attack, yet successively saw her city bounce back to normalcy. In Goa, she retraced her roots, made wonderful new friends, drank lots of feni, spotted a cobra, got drenched in monsoon showers, and saw beautiful sunsets in Gokarna and Hampi with her husband Anil. Needless to say, this book is very special to her.
