About Jessica Tamtürk
Throughout the 1990s, Jessica Tamtürk's infatuation with Turkey was only nourished through her family's annual one- to three-month-long trip there every summer. Eventually she and her family decided to move there—when they arrived in Istanbul in 2005, it was for good.
Before she moved to Turkey, Jessica spent years as a features/beat/breaking news reporter, proofreader, and editorial writer in a Southern California newsroom. She has generated geopolitical editorial content for Fortune Magazine’s Special Sections and features centered on Istanbul for The Guide Istanbul, and her recent involvement in editing and rewriting Portraits of Turkey, a 100-page glossy that was used as the country’s business card during the 2007 Cannes Lions Festival, was yet another chance to deepen her knowledge of Turkey.
For the last 15 years, Turkey has continued to capture Jessica's heart: she has become one of its citizens, which has afforded her a privileged experience of the country and its people. Her deepest wish is to share the uniqueness that is Turkey and the hospitality of its people while passing along the remarkable itineraries and sensory experiences she's enjoyed the most during her time there.
